Edith Cowan University (ECU) has invested significantly in cutting-edge engineering facilities in Joondalup, allowing for applied learning and research and development activity. Under the direction of Professor Kamal Alameh, the multi-million dollar Electron Science Research Institute (ESRI) at ECU carries out research in microelectronics and photonics and related areas of nano-technology.
“The enjoyable Western Australian lifestyle and facilities here impact favourably on innovation levels when compared to other locations and it is no surprise that Joondalup, ECU and ESRI are attracting researchers, students and commercial interest from around the world. Now is a critical time in the global economy to invest in R&D and with ESRI’s demonstrated capabilities in several emerging technologies we provide a pathway to innovation and commercial success for industry – I welcome new collaborative opportunities.”
