The Innovation Vouchers Program is part of the Government’s $20 million Innovation Strategy, with a $400,000 fund available for Western Australian innovators.
Innovation Minister Bill Marmion said the $400,000 fund provided essential support for innovators to take their ideas to market as quickly as possible.
“WA innovators will be able to apply for up to $20,000 in professional services vouchers to develop their ideas, facilitating opportunities for those ideas to be commercialised,” Mr Marmion said.
“The Innovation Vouchers Program has been expanded to include those companies that wish to undertake the required service in-house – it also provides an opportunity for companies to undertake much needed proof-of-market analysis.”
Small Business Minister Sean L’Estrange said support for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) was key to the health of the economy.
“Supporting our home-grown SMEs at a critical point in the development of their business is fundamental to the development of talent, skills and jobs,” Mr L’Estrange said.
“West Australians have a long history of entrepreneurial ambition – this program is another step along the path to helping businesses achieve local, national and global success, as promising ideas are translated into commercial reality.”
