Spirit of ECU Enactus in 2018
Congratulations once again to Enactus ECU for competing at the 2018 Enactus National Competition in Sydney!
The team of seven students (three presenters and four support) presented their two projects; the International Beach Safety Program and Net University.
Enactus ECU made it to the semi-finals and also won the ‘Spirit of Enactus’ Award for their passion displayed during their opening round.
The team competed against the University of New England, University of New South Wales, and Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
QUT went on to win the championship and will attend the Enactus World Cup in San Jose, California in October.
Faculty Advisor for Enactus ECU, Jason Blight, said the team displayed pride and passion for their projects, and conducted themselves in a professional manner.
“This year a new team went to the championships and thrived in the environment that the competition presented.”
“We are so proud of our incredible team and wish them the best for the year ahead.”
He also thanked the team’s Business Advisory Board, as well as the team’s advisor Jenny Devine, for their ongoing support of Enactus ECU.

Enactus ECU is a passionate team of students from Edith Cowan University, dedicated to combating issues in our community through entrepreneurial action. A strong collaboration with University staff, community partners and business representatives, combined with countless volunteer hours, allows us to concentrate on current matters affecting our society. The outcome is sustainable, student-lead business projects with a focus on improving and empowering our community and those within it, as well as providing students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills, business experience, and community spirit in an internationally recognised organisation network. Annually, a national competition brings together Enactus teams from across Australia to present their projects to a panel of industry professionals, in order for one team to progress to the Enactus World Cup – a competition amongst the winning teams from each country. Over the past three years, Enactus have been Australian Champions (2016), and Runner-Up (2015 & 2017).
