The City of Joondalup’s latest Innovation Fund grant will assist in the development of a digital resource to enable local high school students to build the know-how to develop their ideas.
“Teen Biz Base”, the brainchild of Engaging Education Pty Ltd Founder and Director Karen Dennett, allows young entrepreneurs to tap into information and links to industry expertise that will enable them to build their knowledge, skills and networks.
The flexible support and learning from this digital resource will be accessed anywhere and at the students’ own pace as they strive to be successful in a challenging future jobs market, either within an organisation or self-employed.
Ms Dennett said “Teen Biz Base” was developed in response to a demand identified by a growing network of teachers, students, and young entrepreneurs.
“Imagine being a teenager with lots of ambition,” she said.
“You want to make money and believe you could start your own business if you knew where to begin.
“The development of “Teen Biz Base” is a novel online solution to the problems that teenagers face in turning their ideas into a real small business.
